Due to the dramatic presentation of the prototype, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray ( Centennial ) in Salon Chicago a few days ago. A futurologist anxious as the website has taken the job of recreating a version of this model for future Le Mans of 2011 . A dream that could become reality, if indeed this is the prototype of the new Corvette ( C7 )
The most stunning area of the ZR1 is obviously the performance. This car will reach 60 mph in just over three seconds, which is quicker than a $300k Ferrari 599! And you'll roll on to a top sepp of about 205 mph! It's very ballistic, possibly the most ballistic a car can get.
The only downside of this car is its interior. For a $120k sports car, I would've expected better seats and better interior materials. But overall, you cannot ignore the ZR1s inane performance and insane handling, not even if you're an Italian supercar fan.
Here's what's possible when you apply everything you've learned in racing and engineering for a single car - the Corvette ZR1 (very limited availability). With 638-hp LS9 engine was supercharged and superior test-track speed of 205 mph, it was GM's fastest production car of all time. The ZR1 is the overall winner of the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition, which pitted it against the ZR1 the fastest car in the world.
ZR1 engineer was religious about keeping the ratio of power-to-weight advantage. So they set a high strength, lightweight materials wherever possible. One example is the aluminum frame structure (the same used on the C6.R race cars), which weighs 138 pounds. less than an equivalent steel structure. Results: The ratio of power-to-weight highly profitable by 5.2 kilograms per horsepower.
